Venea Prisma Pecorino 2021

Pecorino is such a grape where the excitement oozes from. This wine is characterized by a mature, complex and convincing style. The aromas range from yellow apple, melon, peach to tropical scents of mango, papaya and typical yellow flowers. The palate expresses fullness, good body, soft delicate acidity and elegance.
Origin of the grapes: The grapes are grown in Fossacesia, where the overlapping climate between cool and warm allows the production of international and indigenous. It is a clayey, open soil, more cultivated, density 4000 vines. The grapes are picked during the first week of September. After destemming, the wine is made by cold maceration and slowly pressed for 12 hours at 10°C. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out at 14 °C by adding selective yeasts, then aging in stainless steel tanks for 5 months.

  • About Venea

Love for nature is a high priority for the Paolucci family. The entire family, from parents to children, uncle and even a cousin are involved in winemaking.

The current 3rd generation makes its own wine, but previous generations supplied their grapes to the cooperative. Nicoline and his spouse Serena make wines from the autochthonous grape varieties trebbiano, montepulciano and pecorino in a state-of-the-art manner. Of the latter, the variety was thought to have disappeared around 1900. But this is now the white variety with which the region is furious. The Venea vineyards stretch along 10 hectares in the area of Fossacesia near Chieti in Abruzzo.
