Velenosi Rosso Piceno Bio 2021

Rosso Piceno is bright ruby red. In the nose fresh and floral, with scents of violets and roses, along with distinct nuances of red fruits such as strawberries and plums. On the palate fresh, dry and soft with just the right amount of tannin. Spicy yet structured. Good balance with a lingering pleasant fruity finish.
The vineyards are located in the Ripatransone, Offida and Acqueviva Picena districts and are grown organically. Sangiovese is harvested in late September and Montepulciano in mid-October. After being destemmed, the grapes are transferred to 200hl stainless steel tanks. Maceration on the skins takes about 15 to 20 days.
  • About Velenosi

Velenosi was founded in 1984 by two very young entrepreneurs, Angela and Ercole Velenosi. They combined traditional and modern techniques, leading to their own creative interpretation of winemaking!

Through these insights, the company is constantly growing and adapting itself, creating unique wines that showcase the best of the Piceno region. The heart of the company is located in the historic town of Ascoli Piceno, located in the Marche region and at a distance of about 20 km from the Adriatic Sea and at an altitude of about 150 meters above sea level. The company's vineyard plots stretch among the hills surrounding the beautiful valley of the Tronto River, which, thanks to its clayey and fertile soil, has always been suitable for growing grapes. In addition to the four vineyard plots located in Ascoli Piceno, Castorano, Monsampolo and Castel di Lama, there is a vineyard in the area of Ancarano and in the area of San Marcello (AN).
