Tenuta di Sesta Rosso di Montalcino 2020

Rosso di Montalcino, made from 100% Sangiovese, is considered the younger brother of Brunello. Aged for a year in 20 hl Slavonian oak barrels, the wine combines the solemn structure of Brunello with the freshness and liveliness of a young wine; it is preferably drunk young, even though it resists aging well. The wine has anintense ruby color, already on the nose it reveals all its exuberance with notes of red fruit, blackcurrant, black pepper, licorice and tobacco. In the mouth the wine is full, intense, harmonious, with persistent aromas of red fruit combined with velvety, round tannins.

  • Tenuta di Sesta

Since 1995, Tenuta di Sesta has been run by Giovanni Ciacci, who is supported with the commercial and agronomic management by his children Andrea and Francesca.

Tenuta di Sesta is located in the southern part of the municipality of Montalcino, between Sant'Angelo in Colle and Castelnuovo dell'Abate, near the famous Romanesque Abbey of Sant'Antimo. The vineyards are south facing on a slope, going downhill from 400 to 200 meters above sea level. These lands are considered one of the most suitable areas for the production of Brunello di Montalcino, given their specific location: in fact, the vineyards in the North are sheltered from the cold Tramontana wind from Poggio d'Arna and enjoy the warm Maremma currents thanks to the proximity of Monte Amiata that favors a mild microclimate. Thanks to the enchanting location in Sesta, it is possible to enjoy the fruits of the earth well before other areas.
