Ratzenberger Bacharacher Riesling Brut Sekt 2017
The grapes for this intensely fine, beautifully mineral, subtly sparkling Riesling wine were picked in the Bacharach Monastery Fürstenthal. With its slightly south-west facing position and slate subsoil an ideal vineyard to plant grapes with which Jochen would later manage to make a great Riesling Sekt. The entire process is that of a champagne, with a second fermentation in the bottle. The beautifully integrated mousse betrays that there is also something unique to report: where a champagne normally lies 36 months sur lattes, Jochen makes it a little bolder and gives his bubble child 48 -60 months of rest. And you can taste that.
