Pratello Sant'Emiliano Valtènesi Rosato Bio 2021

To produce Sant'Emiliano Valtèsi Rosato, a special process is used in the moraine hills of the Garda Bresciano hinterland. It allows Pratello to obtain from the planted red grapes, gropello, syrah, barbera and marzemino, a wine with bright undertones of cherry combined with an intense aroma of rose and almond flowers. The pink cherry color with ruby reflections confirm the high level of integrity achieved. It is the typical native wine drunk on pleasant summer days on the shores of Lake Garda. The aromas are of a very special sensory harmony: pure, clear, unmistakable, ranging from the scent of blossoming almond blossom, banana, kaiser pears, cedar and golden apple. The flavors are of unprecedented extended freshness, the sharpness of the taste of fresh grapes, is palpable in every corner of the mouth. Round and healthy are the primary compounds, soft flavor, with a neutral background and a slight bitterness, reminiscent of bitter almonds.
The grapes come from moraine hills near Lake Garda, where they enjoy ideal exposure and constant ventilation that ensures perfect ripeness. Harvesting is done manually here after which a cold maceration on the skin follows for 8 hours. The fermentation lasts 10 days after which the wine rests for 2 months in the bottle.
  • About Pratello

Pratello was founded in 1860 and is located on the southwest side of Lake Garda towards Brescia. Important to the Azienda is the handling of the environment, hence they have been making wines from organically grown grapes since 2004. Total vineyards and olive trees are grown organically. Having followed an organic path, Pratello has created a unique working protocol. Consciously interacting with nature not only by using natural products for the soil and in the cellar but also by respecting the biodiversity of the ecosystem. This is called the 'Pratello Idea'.

In addition to diversity in the organically grown vineyard and BIO architecture, 'Pratello Idea' stands for: reducing the use of copper in the vineyard, the synergy between animals and plants and lowering the amounts of sulfite used.As owner Vicenzo Bertola himself points out: it was an inescapable choice suggested by our philosophy of life. Pratello produces a beautiful range of wines, focused on grapes typical of the area: rebo, manzoni, gropello and turbiana. Very convincing wines with expression and terroir. Winemaker Emiliano Rossi (Cá dei Frati) is highly regarded and experiments with new winemaking techniques combined with the use of natural yeasts.
