Brothers Ezio and Massimo Negretti own 13 hectares of vineyard in La Morra, UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014, Monforte d'Alba and Roddi. The wines are produced exclusively with their own grown pigeons. 90% of the time is dedicated to the vineyards and only 10% to making the wine in the cellar. Respect for the vineyard is their motto.
Extensive care throughout the year and a green harvest result in extremely low yields. A percentage of excess fruit is cut away between late June and late July. Harvest begins in early September with chardonnay, followed by barbera in late September and nebbiolo in early October. The perfect time to harvest is determined by ripeness, sugar and acidity levels, weather conditions and experience. The green harvest in summer will promote faster ripening of the fruit.
Ezio & Massimo Negretti have chosen the "green experience": a certification that guarantees respect for natural resources, biodiversity and this invaluable Langhe World Heritage Site. In this way, not an inch of land is sacrificed. In the cellar, chemistry is not the rule that leads: Negretti believes in physics while respecting the terroir.
