Louis de Grenelle's cellars are located in the center of Saumur, in the heart of the Loire. Louis de Grenelle (since 1859) is the last large fully independent family-owned company specializing in sparkling wine making. The company combines old traditional production methods with the modern way of producing. Louis de Grenelle boasts exceptional proprietary vineyards that guarantee grapes of exceptional quality.
In 1976, visionary winemaker Hubert Bodet and two business partners took over this then decaying cellar, contrary to everyone's advice. However, time would eventually prove those who "dare, work and never give up" (X.Dolan) right. In 2009, Hubert Bodet passed the baton to his daughter, Françoise Flao, who has been involved in the business since 1983, assisted by her husband, Jean Pierre Flao.
Françoise Flao plans for the future by focusing on leveraging the winemakers' artisanal expertise while adding a touch of modernity and innovation. However, Françoise continues to favor a quality working method, which has never compromised her signature Louis de Grenelle style over the years.
