The color of this Sauvignon Blanc is bright and has a fresh yellow color with green sparkles. It has medium intensity in the nose. Tropical aromas, but lemon is also evident. On the palate, it has flavors of ripe fruit and is well balanced with fresh acidity. It is easy to drink with a strong fruity character.
The Bodega Santa Cruz de Alpera was founded in 1947 by 25 winemakers. Their goal was to create a winery that could turn the quality of grapes into excellent wine. Now with more than 60 years of experience and with larger vineyards and fully modernized facilities, they face new challenges. They want to maintain the cooperative identity; the winery offers unique products by growing mainly 1 variety: Garnacha Tintorera. The Garnacha Tintorera (also called Alicante Bouschet) grape is a cross of Petit Bouschet ( cross of the very old variety Teinturier du Cher & Aramon) and Grenache. It is one of the few grapes with red flesh. It is an extremely disease resistant grape. They make their best wines from hand-selected grapes from vines over 40 years old. The Syrah variety is very well adapted to the local environment and complements the red and rosé wines. Finally, a pleasant surprise was the discovery that Verdejo grapes are well adapted to the local soil and thanks to the high altitude of the vineyards (over 900 meters), they prepare fresh and fruity white wines with a very strong tropical palette.
