About Clea

D.O. Ribera del Duero is now an internationally renowned region that has produced several famous wines in recent years (see also pages 96 and 97). Clea is a wine with a story of art and was developed by the men behind Vintae.

The bodega selects its grapes from vineyards around the villages: Fuentemolinos, Quintanilla de Onésimo, Anguix and Moradillo de Roa, where the best grapes (cabernet-sauvignon, tinta de pais and tinta fina) come from. Nothing is left to chance in the process of making a great wine. From small 15-kilo crates for picking to a rigorous grape selection where only the very best grapes are used. All wines are aged in French oak in varying periods of old and new barrels. For example, Crianza matures partly on new and partly on one-year old barrels and the Reserva with the largest proportion of new wooden barrels. The results are impressive, the wines of Clea regularly win international awards including Mondus Vini and Decanter.
