This Chardonnay has everything a chardonnay should have, depth yet fresh, well made with a touch of wood. It has aromas of ripe yellow apple, apricot and a touch of toast.
These chardonnay grapes come largely from high-altitude (400 meters) vineyards located at the foot of the Cévennes and from the region of Limoux. The different soil types in this region provide typical accents. The clay and limestone in the Cévennes area give the wine a freshness that is very popular. The rich stony clay on the plains of Béziers makes for rich and round wines. And the clay and limestone soils of the Carcassonne area actually give the wine fruity notes. The relatively cool climate makes for elegant fresh wines. About 25% of the wine is aged in oak.
Quartier are wines assembled by us, Well of Wine, from one grape variety each in a clean, accessible and fruity style. Wines to please immediately.
At the same time, Quartier wines are typical not only of the grape variety used, but also of their region of origin. The wines are made under the watchful eye of renowned oenologist duo Catherine and Laurent Delaunay, a winery that hails from Burgundy, but has also been active for ages in Languedoc- Roussillon, among others, where the Quartier wines come from.
