The wine is made by the well-known winemaker: Rui Roboredo Madeira. Recently referred to by the English wine magazine Decanter as one of the young innovators of Portuguese wines. The origin of the wine is the D.O.C. Beira Interior in Portugal. The soul of this wine is the unique combination of the grape varieties: síria and fonte cal and the terroir: granite and slate soil with quartz veins, in the basin of the Douro River at an average altitude of 700 meters. The grape variety Síria also called Roupeiro is a white grape and is the most widely planted variety in this D.O.C. Due to the particular microclimate with cold nights, the wine retains its freshness and exuberant aromas. Fonte Cal is found only in Beira Interior. It is a late ripening grape with medium-sized yellow-green grapes and compact bunches. Rui Madeira turns these grapes into a fruity featherweight (12%) blend. The wine was chosen as a regional trophy at Decanter.
