Brigaldara Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2015 - Half 0.375L

Amarone Classico is bright red in color. The clean aromas of red cherries and berries are lifted by a floral touch. Sweet on entry with a nice sweet and soft mouthfeel, then slightly bitter with remarkable tannins to accompany the vibrant red berry aromas. Finishes classically dry and with a touch of alcohol-derived warmth. This focused, energetic wine is delicious now, but will only get better with aging.

Amarone Classico is made from grapes harvested in the vineyards of Brigaldara, located in the heart of the so-called Valpolicella Classica, at the entrance to the Marano Valley. The grapes used to produce Amarone have been the most exposed to the sun and the skin the thinnest. The careful selection of grapes in the vineyard and the strict management of the drying process are of extraordinary importance for this wine. The grapes are left to dry for about 120 days and then vinified. The winemaking process promotes the transfer of all the noble components from the skin to the wine. Amarone Classico follows the traditional production method and uses large wooden barrels that are able to evolve the wine in the approx. 3 years of aging.
The wine ages 1 year in French barrique and 2 years in 25hl Slavonian oak barrels.
  • About Brigaldara

A thousand years of history, 120 hectares of land - 47 of which are planted with vines - spread over three different areas of Verona: Valpolicella Classico, Valpantena and Eastern Valpolicella. The Cesari family has owned the villa and surrounding land, planted with vines, olive trees, orchards and grain, among other things, since 1928.

According to Brigaldara, vineyard management is central. Here, most of the work is done manually by a team of agronomists, who work shoulder to shoulder with oenologists and management. Every decision is made taking into account the importance of preserving biodiversity and respecting the vegetative-productive balance of each ecosystem. Other important elements are the ripening process of the grapes and the individual needs of each vineyard. Rapid interventions, precise operations and a drastic reduction of treatments in the vineyard guarantee a long-term sustainable vision for the vineyards. By the way, pesticides and synthetic products are banned in this vineyard in favor of responsible use of sulfur, copper and pelleted manure.

Stefano Cesari and his wife Maria Gilla are assisted by their sons: Lamberto and Antonio, ensuring the future of this excellent winery. Approved by Equilitas 3E sustainability label.

(The vineyards of Amarone Classico extend partly over the foot of Monte Masua, along the valley that descends from Marano to San Floriano and partly on a spectacular slope that rises to 250 meters and is furrowed to the top by marogne stone walls that terraced the slope, whose origins date back to the XVII century.
