This albariño from Rías Baixas has a straw yellow color with green and golden glints. It is intensely fruity in the nose with aromas of apricot, pineapple and apple with hints of white flowers. The wine is full-bodied and the fruit fleshy with balanced acidity that gives it freshness. Sustained with elegance and lingering finish.
These albariño vineyards are located in the valleys of the Miño River. Adegas Valtea is located in an area with a special microclimate that allows the grapes to reach the maturity needed to produce excellent wines. The vines used to make Adegas Valtea wines are in a vineyard with an area of 22Ha, 15Ha owned and 7Ha rented. Lying on the banks of the Miño River on the north-south, the vineyards of Adegas Valtea develop, on an irregular terrain with a slight slope formed by steps or balconies suspended over the Miño Basin.
Valtea is located near the Atlantic Ocean, about 30 kilometers from both Vigo and Ourense, the two major cities in this part of Galicia where the DO Rías Baixas is located. This is the Atlantic, cool, humid and mostly green part of Spain that produces perhaps the best white wines in the entire country. Knowing that the albariño grape is one of the most complex, perhaps the one that offers the best characteristics to produce high-quality white wines.
The grapes are harvested by hand and each bunch is chosen at the optimal time of ripening. Once at the winery, once the grapes are selected based on their quality and the vineyards they come from, they select the must in different qualities, separating the different types of must. Once approved, they intervene as little as possible in the fermentation process. As a result of all this, Valtea albariño is born, a very personal wine that expresses all the strength of the land it is rooted in.
