Domaine Dominique Cornin is a small estate in Mâcon and has long been owned by father Dominique and son Romain Cornin. Together they manage their 10 hectares of vineyards around the village of Chaintré in the southernmost point of the Mâconnais, where it joins the Beaujolais.
In 1998 they stopped using chemical pesticides. After being successful with an experiment, they switched completely to organic and biodynamic viticulture in 2003. There should be, according to their method, a natural microbiological balance in the soil. Due to this method, their wines offer a very great diversity and their different terroirs are beautifully expressed.
They also use during vinification only natural yeasts naturally present on the grape, instead of the often used industrial ones. This gives the different vineyards all their typical signature and makes them very distinct in character.
