Brigaldara Recioto della Valpolicella 2019 - Half 0.375L

Recioto has an intense ruby red color. On the nose, aromas of mocha, black cherry, plum, espresso and spice. The intense fruit is nicely balanced by an underlying energy and focus. Sweet, perfumed, floral notes envelop the long, mineral finish. This wine shows wonderful inner sweetness and perfume in a medium-bodied, approachable style. An exceptional wine.

The grapes used in the Recioto are grown on vines more than 20 years old and still grown in the Pergola Veronese style. The grapes must be in perfect condition to undergo the long drying process. Fermentation is carried out by encouraging the natural yeasts present in the wine cellar. Fermentation stops naturally once the balance between alcohol and residual sugar is reached. Maturation in wood follows the tradition of the Valpolicella Classica area and is carried out in 25hl French oak barrels for 2 years.

Recioto is produced only in the best years when the appassimento and natural fermentation procedures can reach a level of quality high enough to meet the standards required by the tradition of this wine.
  • About Brigaldara

A thousand years of history, 120 hectares of land - 47 of which are planted with vines - spread over three different areas of Verona: Valpolicella Classico, Valpantena and Eastern Valpolicella. The Cesari family has owned the villa and surrounding land, planted with vines, olive trees, orchards and grain, among other things, since 1928.

According to Brigaldara, vineyard management is central. Here, most of the work is done manually by a team of agronomists, who work shoulder to shoulder with oenologists and management. Every decision is made taking into account the importance of preserving biodiversity and respecting the vegetative-productive balance of each ecosystem. Other important elements are the ripening process of the grapes and the individual needs of each vineyard. Rapid interventions, precise operations and a drastic reduction of treatments in the vineyard guarantee a long-term sustainable vision for the vineyards. Incidentally, pesticides and synthetic products are banned in this vineyard in favor of responsible use of sulfur, copper and pelleted manure.

Stefano Cesari and his wife Maria Gilla are assisted by their sons: Lamberto and Antonio, ensuring the future of this excellent winery. Approved by Equilitas 3E sustainability label.
