Description
The Flagship wine Yiron from Galil Mountain is a blend produced from grapes from the Upper Galilee vineyards. Yiron has a shimmering burgundy color. The wine has a robust character with abundant aromas of berries, cherries and plum jam, on a spiced background of vanilla, cloves and toasted oak. This balanced, full-bodied wine has a long and classic finish. The wine underwent fermentation on skins at 30ºC for 14-21 days, complete malolactic fermentation and aged for 16 months in French oak barrels.
The winter leading up to the 2016 harvest started with a severe snowstorm that provided the vines with the coldest conditions. During the rest of the winter, there was little rainfall. In early May, a rain shower made up for the lack of rainfall, allowing the vine to be raised in moist soil. For the rest of the season, the weather was moderate, even cooler than average, without extreme conditions. The fruit ripened evenly and the harvest was of very high quality.
