Description
Amarone Classico Riserva has a deep ruby red color. In the fragrance it has intense aromas of dark cherries and plums in combination with cocoa and coffee. On the palate it is rich and fruity sweet on arrival, then more floral and long ends with a refined but very dense, warm mouthfeel.
Amarone Riserva is a wine that interprets the Valpolicella region without changing time or technique. It is produced only during the best vintages using only those grapes of superior complexity. The rigorous selection in the vineyard tries to capture in a wine the maximum potential of the entire territory of Valpolicella, from both the classic and the DOC areas. Amarone Riserva expresses a nice balance between the power of fruit and the elegance it can achieve thanks to the long maturation period in wood, which develops deep and complex tertiary notes.
The grapes used for the production of Amarone have been best exposed to the sun and the skins the thinest. The careful selection of the grapes in the vineyard and the strict management of the drying process are of extraordinary importance for this wine. The grapes are left to dry for about 120 days and are then vinified. Winemaking promotes the transfer of all noble components from the skin to the wine. Amarone Classico follows the traditional production method and uses large wooden barrels that are able to evolve the wine in the approx. 3 years of aging.
Aging: 3 years in barriques and 2 years in 25hl Slavonian oak barrels.
